South Africa recorded 3 049 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has said on Saturday.
This brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3 579 428.
This increase of 3 049 new COVID-19 cases represents a 9.2% positivity rate.
A further 13 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 94 063 to date.
“The cumulative number of recoveries is 3 405 713.”
The majority of new cases are in Gauteng with 774 new cases, the Western Cape with 580 new cases, the KwaZulu-Natal with 462 new cases, and Limpopo with 307 new cases in the provinces.
