With Cape Town booking a record low 37 degrees temperature this weekend, the third week of 2022 was packing HEAT! With some interesting imagery from around the world, here are few of the hottest places that set world-wide records this week.
Algeria records the highest temperature ever recorded in Africa at 51.3 degrees in Ouargla in the Algerian Sahara desert, on 5 July 2018.
Holding the record for the highest temperature ever recorded in Asia, Mitribah booked a sweltering 53.9 degrees on 21 July 2016.
Basra recorded a heaping 53.9 degrees on the 22 July 2016, at Basra International Airport in Iraq.
located in southern Balochistan, Pakistan, Turbat recorded the fourth highest ever temperature on 28 May 2017 with 53.7 degrees.
With salt formations, gas geysers and acidic hot springs, Ethiopia means business when bringing in the Heat. The Area still holds an average daily maximum temperature of 41 degrees recorded from 1960 to 1966.
