Logging calls, calling and tweeting @CityPowerJHB to urgently solve an ongoing power outage in a quiet neighbourhood of Honey Park in Honeydew, Roodepoort, reached its limits after frustrated residents took to the streets to have their cries heard.

RESIDENTS SHOW HOW FED UP THEY ARE WITH CITY POWER

Blockaded roads with burning tyres, rubble and dead tree branches strewn on entry points – formed part of an unorthodox phenomenon this afternoon.

Residents of all walks of life gathered on the corner of Deysel and Glover roads, forcing traffic to come to a standstill and ultimately resorting to using alternative routes to get to their destinations.

The distraught residents claimed to have had enough of never-ending power outages caused by cable theft, but to make matters worse – City Power’s poor response in attending to calls and repairing the reported faults.

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) and other law enforcement services were onsite to monitor the situation.
