CAPE TOWN RESIDENTS URGED TO USE OTHER ROUTES

The City of Cape Town advised motorists to avoid travelling to Simon’s Town via Fish Hoek, and to use alternative routes where possible.

The detour is implemented at the traffic circle at the intersection of Main Road and Kommetjie Road between 09:00 and 16:00 on Wednesday, 6 April 2022 until Monday, 11 April 2022.

The City said the detour may be extended, pending inclement weather and rain. The diversion of traffic is needed while the traffic circle is being resurfaced.

City of Cape Town MMC for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas said the project has been progressing well.

“I want to thank local residents and the business community, as well as commuters, for their support and understanding.

“The rainy weather earlier this week has delayed our work, and therefore we need to extend this detour. We are trying our best to get the work done as soon as possible.”
