Ever seen a heavily pregnant woman and thought: she’s going to give birth any second? This thought turned into a reality for bus station manager Xolani Stofile on Monday.
Stofile, who was visiting personnel at Omuramba Bus Station near Milnerton, very quickly had to shift from being manager to mid-husband on Monday.
Stofile was going about his normal business at the station, when he noticed a pregnant woman waiting at the door to the (occupied) women’s toilet. She appeared to be in a lot of pain, and then her water broke!
Councillor Brett Herron, the spokesperson on transport, said that Stofile reacted like a true professional. He made the woman as comfortable as possible, and then assisted her as she gave birth to a healthy little boy.
The father of the baby boy is extremely grateful to Stofile, and has reported that both mother and baby boy, named Gilbert Gabriel, are doing well at home.
