15 of the 17 World Court judges voted in favour of South Africa’s request of provisional measures to prevent genpcide in Gaza.
South Africa’s legal team has been praised worldwide for delivering a strong case against Israel at the ICJ.
The International Court of Justice also known as the World Court, has ruled in favour of South Africa, granting its request for immediate interim measures to prevent Israel’s war on Gaza.
On Friday, ICJ President Judge Joan Donoghue, ordered Israel to ensure it takes measures to prevent acts of Genocide in Gaza.
ICJ ORDER END OF GENOCIDE
In delivering her Order, Donoghue says the Court has found sufficient evidence exists for a case of genocide. She says the the court will not throw away the case of South Africa accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza as some allegations fall with the Genocide Convention.
In it’s initial request, South Africa had requested amongst other things, an immediate ceasefire. However the court, did not explicitly order a seize fire, but orders Israel to prevent genocide by all means and punish any incitement of genocide.

Israel has also been requested to allow Humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave.
The World Court has order Israel to report back in a month’s time to detail measures it has taken since the order was given.
SOCIAL MEDIA REACTION
Economic Freedom Fighters Member of Parliament Mbuyiseni Ndlozi in a lengthy post on X, says that Israel has been humiliated on an international stage.
“After ICJ’s ruling it is almost impossible to see those racial supremacists running the Apartheid state of Israel coming back to the court. Already, they have been intellectually humiliated by an African country on an international stage.”
Ndlozi does not believe that Israel will comply with the order.
“Their deep seated racism will not allow them to comply with any of the court orders.”
