ICYMI: No water for 12 hours in parts of Tshwane on Wednesday

Tshwane residents face a 12-hour water interruption on Wednesday. They are urged to be prepared for this temporary service disruption.

The City of Tshwane is gearing up for a carefully planned 12-hour water interruption scheduled for 10 January 2024, impacting six suburbs.

Residents in the Queenswood Reservoir supply area are advised to brace themselves for this disruption. It is set to take place from 8:00 to 20:00.

“During the period, the City’s technicians will carry out upgrade work on the water supply network in Queenswood,” said the City of Tshwane.

No water in these areas on Wednesday

A reminder was issued yesterday, emphasising the importance of residents in the affected suburbs, including Koedoespoort, Villieria, Waverly, Moregloed, Queenswood, and Rietfontein, to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions to minimise the impact of the interruption.

Residents are strongly encouraged to adopt water conservation measures to ensure minimal inconvenience.

This includes refraining from watering gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 6:00 and 18:00. Abstaining from washing vehicles with hosepipes, and avoiding the filling of swimming pools.

Furthermore, residents are advised to consider installing low-flow showerheads and tap aerators wherever possible, contributing to long-term water conservation efforts.
