Ace Magashule to make ‘major announcement’ VERY SOON
Ace Magashule is expected to shed light on his political future just months after being expelled from the ANC

Former African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Ace Magashule is expected to make a very important announcement on Wednesday – and it has to do with political future.
Magashule was expelled from the ANC after the party’s National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) found him guilty of bringing the party into disrepute. This is after he attempted to suspend President Cyril Ramaphosa illegally in May 2021. He also failed to abide by an official instruction to apologise for the attempt.

ACE MAGASHULE: ‘I WON’T LEAVE POLITICS’
Ace Magashule has confirmed to IOL he will be making the announcement in Soweto, but would not give any more details. All this comes as speculation mounts that he is starting his own political party to go up against the ANC in the 2024 general elections.
Magashule told the publication he has no plans of leaving politics, despite his recent misfortunes.
“I am in politics; I won’t leave politics,” he is quoted as having said.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR MAGASHULE?
The former Secretary-General attempted to suspend Ramaphosa while there were calls for him to step aside due to his alleged involvement in the Free State asbestos tender corruption scandal. The South African previously reported that the President recently gave the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) the authorisation to investigate his tenure as Premier in the Free State.
He already faces charges in connection with an asbestos tender: In 2014, the Free State human settlements department awarded a contract worth a whopping R255 million to two companies – Diamond Hill and Blackhead Consulting. This was to audit and assess houses for asbestos roofs in the province. The project entailed inspecting 300 000 low-cost houses, however it would later be revealed that almost no work was no done, despite the money being paid.
