Adult female killed in Umlazi cash-in-transit heist cross-fire
In a vehicle nearby an adult female was found to have sustained fatal gunshot injuries after the cash-in-transit heist in Umlazi.

An adult female was fatally wounded in Umlazi, south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal when a cash-in-transit vehicle came under fire.
CASH-IN-TRANSIT HEIST LEAVES ONE WOMAN KILLED, THREE INJURED
Earlier this evening, Monday, 15 May, Emer-G-Med paramedics together with multiple emergency service agencies responded to the M35 Umlazi South of Durban for the cash-in-transit heist.
“On arrival on scene teams were met with chaos as the carcass of an armoured van which had been blown up by unknown suspects, occupied the roadway,” Emer-G Med reported.
“One guard was found with a gunshot wound, whilst a second was found to have been assaulted.”

EMER-G-MED PARAMEDICS FIND CHAOS IN UMLAZI SCENE
According to Emer-G-Med, in a vehicle nearby an adult female was found to have sustained fatal gunshot injuries believed to be in the crossfire, she was declared dead on arrival of paramedics. A male patient was found near the female with gunshot wounds and he was treated and stabilized on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
Emer-G-Med further said the South African Police Service (SAPS) were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.

SUSPECT NABBED IN FOILED CASH VAN ROBBERY
Meanwhile, a suspect was nabbed while others fled the scene of a failed cash-in-transit heist in the East Rand on 26 August 2022.
According to a statement compiled by the Ekurhuleni District SAPS Communications Officer Captain N Sekgobela, at 16:50 a white G4S motor vehicle, with a GP registration number was shot by unknown suspects who were driving a Mercedes Benz at Llliba section, Tembisa, opposite the sports ground on the new road.
