Japanese motorbike racer, Haruki Noguchi, dead after horror crash

A 22-year-old Japanese motorbike racer, Haruki Noguchi, was killed after suffering a serious head injury in a crash at an Indonesian circuit.

Haruki Noguchi, a rising star in the motorbike racing scene in Asia died after suffering head injuries during the ARRC (Asian Road Racing Championship) race in Indonesia.

The 22-year-old raced for SDG MS Harc-Pro team and the incident occurred at turn 10 of the Mandalika Circuit in Indonesia on Sunday, 13 August during the second race of Asia Superbike 1000 in the first Asian Road Racing Championship according to CrashNet.

The talented Haruki Noguchi had recently finished on the podium at the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race according to Roadracingworld.

The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) an official promoter of MotoGP and WorldSBK in Indonesia issued a statement dated August 17, 2023. The delayed statement was done to honour the family of Haruki Noguchi and team, who have requested private time to mourn their loss.

“It is with great sadness that we report the sad news of Haruki Noguchi’s death after three days undergoing intensive care at General Hospital, NTB,” MGPA Official wrote in a statement.

“On Round-4 FIM Asia Road Championship 2023 held at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Haruki suffered a critical injury following the incident in Tikungan-10, on the 4th Lap in the Asia Superbike 1000cc race category,”

“The 22-year-old racer immediately received medical attention at the circuit’s Medical Center before being transferred to a local hospital. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Haruki sadly died of his injuries on August 16, 2023 at 17:40.

“The President of FIM Asia and its Board of Directors, Two Wheels Motor Racing (TWMR) and the FIM Asia Road Racing family extend their sincerest condolences to Haruki Noguchi’s family, friends and loved ones.”
