The latest round of petrol and diesel price changes came into effect on Wednesday last week, as reported by The South African website.

Petrol dropped by 71 cents a litre while diesel saw an 80-84 cents per litre decrease.
That brought the petrol price for 95 Octane to R22.63 inland.

According to the Outlier Africa Instagram page, by comparison, four years ago a litre of 95 Octane cost R16.76.
Despite the most recent decrease, that’s still R5.87 a litre more than the same time 48 months ago.
To fill the 59 litre tank of your BMW Series 3 in Gauteng – and other inland regions – used to cost R989 in June 2019.
Today it will set you back R1 335.
That’s a whopping R346 more every time you fill up.
