Woolworths is doing the most to show their support for the Springboks – and shade all their Rugby World Cup opponents – and South Africans are loving them for it!

In the last few days, the retailer threw subtle shots at both England and France, who were knocked out of the competition by the Boks.

They’ve even promised player Ox Nche a year’s supply of cake!

WOOLWORTHS COME FOR ENGLAND IN SHADY POSTS

Just hours after the Springboks beat England into the Rugby World Cup finals, Woolworths posted several shady shots at the losing team.

That included liking and responding to comments from shoppers about slashing the prices on their English Muffins. The retailer also promised to look into into “Seal biltong” in relation to a viral video.

Earlier this week, Woolworths posted a shady shot at team France whom the Boks beat last weekend.

In the video post, a shopper is seen ditching a pack of croissants – a typical French pastry – in favour of vetkoek or amagwinya from Woolies’ new heritage line. The account captioned the post with a South African flag.

And the shade continued in the comments section. When one follower posted: “That was quick,” Woolworths responded: “Not as quick as Cheslin [Kolbe].”

On Twitter or X.com, Woolworths responded to a tweep who demanded “half-priced croissants” following the match.

Woolies cheekily responded: “Not our French fries too?”

WHO WILL SPRINGBOKS PLAY IN THE RWC FINAL?

The Springboks will take on their biggest rugby rivals in the World Cup finale on Saturday, 28 October, at the Stade de France.

The match kicks off at 21:00 SA time. It can be watched on DStv’s SuperSport channels and SABC 2, or streamed via the SABC Plus website and app.
