Ever found yourself dealing with 100 messages a minute in a WhatsApp group that you didn’t really ask to be in? Your struggle may soon come to an end as the social media group trials silent group exits.

The new feature will only show admins of the group who left and not everyone who is in the group.

WhatsApp tests new feature to allow silent group exits

For years now, people have complained about being stuck in WhatsApp groups out of fear that their exit may raise alarm bells or start a stream of uncomfortable questions.

Finally, WhatsApp has answered the prayers of many users as they reportedly trial a new feature that allows group members to slip away unnoticed by everyone but the group’s administration.

Daily Mail Online first reported that the new feature was first spotted by independent WhatsApp experts WABetaInfo, which “searches early beta versions of the app to identify upcoming features before they are released.”

“When you want to exit a WhatsApp group, other people won’t be notified in the chat. Only group admins will be able to see who exits the group, but others don’t,” WABetaInfo said in a blog post.”

The new feature can potentially end all arguments around group exits and people who are offended when people decide to leave.

Briefly News reports that Mark Zuckerberg first disclosed the company’s plans to allow users to silently leave groups back in April.
