Here’s when the first social grants will pay.

SASSA: Which social grant pays first?

SASSA have announced their social grant payment dates for April.

The Older Persons (Pensioners) Grant is the first to pay.

Expect your Pensioners Grants on: 3 April, 2024.

The next social grant paying is the Disability Grant.

Knowing your payment date makes collection easier and faster. According to SASSA, allow two to three days for clearance time.

SASSA: Other social grant payment dates

Here are the other social grant payment dates, according to the information.

  • Older Persons (Pensioners) Grants pay on: 3 April, 2024.
  • Disability Grants will pay out on the next day: 4 April, 2024.
  • Childcare, Foster Child, and In-Aid Grants will pay on the 5 April, 2024.

SASSA: What about the SRD Grant?

Unemployed South Africans can apply for the Social Relief of Distress Grant. This grant pays out later during April.

Expect your SRD Grants later this month, closer to the month’s end date.

You can still apply for this grant through their website.

Register on the website using your ID Number to start.

Remember to make sure that it’s a real government website. Scams will just steal your information!

SASSA: Rejected?

A social grant can be rejected after an unsuccessful means test.

The means test assesses your income and other details.

Each month, grants are rejected or approved.

If your grant has been wrongfully rejected, contact SASSA for more information. Send a message within 30 days and complain in writing.

Sometimes assessments are incorrect.
