Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their four-month-old son, Archie made their way to the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation in Cape Town on Wednesday on the third day of their Southern-Africa tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex initially shared a video of them walking towards the meeting with baby Archie on their Instagram story. They captioned it: “Arch meets Archie”. This is the first time that baby Archie was seen at an official engagement since his parents started the ten-day tour.

Harry, Meghan and Archie meeting Desmond Tutu:

On the third day of their Southern-Africa tour, Prince Harry and Meghan are set to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu and daughter Thandeka in a private meeting. Prince Harry previously met with Archbishop Tutu in November 2015, when he was honoured on behalf of Queen Elizabeth in recognition of his services to UK communities and international peace and reconciliation.

After their meeting, Harry will then wave goodbye and board the royal charter to Botswana for the start of his solo work. Meghan and Archie will stay in South Africa where the Duchess will continue to do solo work and attend various engagements until Prince Harry’s return.

Meeting the Sussex’s:

Desmond Tutu previously said that meeting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is a ‘rare privilege and honour’. The foundation released a statement prior to their meeting, saying:

“We are enormously grateful to welcome the Duke and Duchess to our magnificent space, and for their love and respect for the Arch,” said chairperson of the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation Niclas Kjellstrom-Matseke.

About the Legacy Foundation:

The Legacy Foundation ultimately strives to contribute to the development of youth and leadership, facilitate discussions about social justice and common human purpose, and made it their mission to share the lessons Archbishop Tutu learned and taught to new generations.
