Why dogs don’t eat passion fruits

Passion fruits have a rind, flesh, and seeds. If the fruit is ripe, the flesh isn’t harmful to dogs.

But if it’s unripe, the whole fruit is a concern for your dog.

The seeds are the main worry, and passionfruit seeds are densely packed.

Similar to apples, passionfruit seeds contain cyanide. However, removing the seeds is tricky, unlike with apples.

The rind of a passionfruit is also toxic, so if any seeds or rind are attached to the flesh, they could be eaten.

While parts of the fruit might be safe, it’s safer to keep passionfruit away from your dog.
