1. Zeus
In Otsego, Michigan, there was a Great Dane named Zeus.
Zeus could stand on his hind legs at a huge 7 feet 4 inches.
He was 44 inches tall and got into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2013 as the tallest dog.
Despite his size, Zeus was very gentle.
He was like a lap dog and liked lying on his family’s laps.

Zeus often visited hospitals and schools and was a therapy dog.
Some people thought he was a horse and asked if he had a saddle.
Zeus still holds the record for the tallest dog, beating Giant George by an inch.
Sadly, Zeus passed away in September 2014 at the age of 5.
2. Giant George
Giant George, a Great Dane from Arizona, used to be the world’s tallest dog before Zeus.
He makes our list because of his incredible weight.
He measured 7 feet and 3 inches from nose to tail and weighed 245 pounds in 2010.
Despite being the runt of his litter, he became huge.
He devoured 110 pounds of food each month, including dog food, rotisserie chicken, yogurt, and rice.
Giant George’s main job was raising awareness about lost dogs and encouraging donations to animal charities.
Sadly, he only lived for eight years and passed away in 2013.

3. Titan
Titan, a Great Dane from California, became the world’s tallest dog according to Guinness World Records in November 2009.
Titan was an enormous but gentle and affectionate breed who got along with dogs of all sizes.
People often mistook him for a horse or a cow when he went for walks with his owner.
Unfortunately, like many large dog breeds, Titan faced various health problems, including epilepsy.
Additionally, he was both deaf and blind.
