Ndlovu Youth Choir says ‘America’s Got Talent’ final will be unlike anything they’ve done before

With the Season 14 finale less than one week away, America’s Got Talent locked in their ten finalists last night.

The Ndlovu Youth Choir is busy preparing for the final stage of America’s Got Talent. In a recent social media update, the choir said that they are busy brainstorming, rehearsing and recording and that they have something special planned when they take the AGT stage one last time:

“Our performance on the final of America’s Got Talent will be unlike anything we have done before,” they said further.

The Limpopo choir recently made it onto the final stage of AGT after their stunning performance of ‘Higher Love‘. They are now one of ten teams/contestants that will compete for the ultimate prize on 17 and 18 September. Yes, the Ndlovu Youth Choir hopes to walk away with the $1 million prize money next week. 

And while there is a lot of speculation about what song they are going to perform during the finals of AGT, South Africans are taking to social media to wish them all the luck in the world.

The South African government’s Twitter page said that everyone in SA is rooting for them:

“Congratulations to the Ndlovu Youth Choir for making it to the finals at America’s Got Talent. Keep flying the South African Flag higher and higher. Everyone is rooting for you back home. Halala!”

More about the Ndlovu Youth Choir:

The Ndlovu Youth Choir is from a small town in Limpopo and since its inception in 2009, “have profoundly affected the lives of the choristers and demonstrates the potential of any human being to achieve excellence no matter their background, education or place of birth,” reads their official website. “From its humble beginnings as an after-school activity, the choir has evolved into a truly outstanding professional ensemble.”

They reached viral fame earlier in 2019 when their cover of Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You. But they are now establishing themselves as truly unique performers on the international stage, forging a reputation as this generation’s Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
