Every South African loves a beautifully cooked rump steak but many of us also love a tasty puff pastry pie or a steak and cheese sandwich. Well, you can finally put all of these classics into one jacket of golden goodness with this rump steak pie which you can make on the braai this summer.

You can of course use store-bought puff pastry because it’s often perfect anyway. You want your steak to be great quality but that’s easy to find in this beautiful country. You just want to give it a good sear on a piping hot braai before putting it into your pastry with some sharp cheese. Pop it back onto the braai and watch magic happen before taking the most magical bites of goodness that will become a new family favourite.
