Admit it, we all love a delicious slice of bread. But for many of us, we don’t want to feel guilty about eating so many carbs. How about baking your own low-calorie bread to load with your healthy snacks? Our Nutty Seed Bread is perfect for the health-conscious individual or family. Not only is it very tasty, but it’s perfectly portioned for the week ahead.

There are so many types of seed bread out there. We love them too and we added some almonds to ours to give it that extra nutty flavour. Nuts and seeds are packed with great nutrients and of course, dietary fibre. Sunday is the perfect opportunity to bake this Nutty Seed Bread while you do meal prep for the rest of the week. This recipe makes 8 servings and is only 258 calories.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup ½ Whole wheat flour

  • ½ cup ½ Flax seeds, ground

  • ½ cup ½ Sesame seeds

  • ½ cup ½ Raw almonds

  • 3 large 3 Eggs

  • 1 pinch 1 Salt

  • ½ cup ½ Extra virgin olive oil

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Lightly grease a 13cm x 22cm (5 x 9 inch) bread tin.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour mixture into a bread tin.
  • Bake for 45 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the tin.
  • Turn out bread and allow it to cool further.
