If you like making elegant snacks and desserts for dinner parties, small, easy to enjoy desserts shaped into balls are very popular. They look great on a dessert table and as they’re easy to enjoy with your hands, are usually gone first. Our coconut date balls are a true classic with a coconut coating. You can decorate them with various toppings too if coconut isn’t your thing, but they’re a great summer snack either way.

Making coconut date balls

You can use Tennis or Marie Biscuits to bind and add texture. However, Tennis Biscuits are more buttery and have a coconut flavour to them already which boosts that recognisable taste. Chop the dates as small as you want to but you can also put them in a food processor and pulse a few times. You want to keep some of the texture. Add some cocoa powder with the mixture and top them with almonds for another great variation on this treat.
