This flatbread is better than the traditional one as it contains that familiar biltong taste we all love and know.

This recipe was developed by “What’s for Dinner” and includes KNORR’s Bacon and Onion flavour Potato Bake to add some extra delicious flavour to this recipe. Each bite into the crispy flatbread and soft interior flavoured with biltong is a taste sensation.

  • 1 cup 1 water

  • 400 ml 400 white bread flour

  • 1 sachet 1 KNORR Bacon and Onion Flavour Potato Bake

  • 10 packet 10 packet instant yeast

  • 100 g 100 biltong, sliced and roughly broken up

  • 100 g 100 flour for dusting


  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, yeast, KNORR Bacon and Onion flavour Potato Bake sachet contents and water to form a soft dough.
  • Knead by hand for about 15 minutes or knead in a machine for 5 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a clean bowl and leave it in a warm place to double in size.
  • Once risen, knock back and add the biltong.
  • Divide the mixture into 8 portions.
  • Dust the surface lightly with flour, and using a rolling pin, roll each portion of dough into small, flat rounds about 15 cm in diameter.
  • Dust off excess flour and place on braai for about 1 minute. Turn and cook the other side.
