  • ½ cup ½ brown sugar

  • ½ cup ½ applesauce27

  • ¼ cup ¼ canola oil

  • 1 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon 1 vanilla extract

  • ¾ teaspoon ¾ salt

  • 1 cup 1 whole wheat flour

  • 1 cup 1 natural wheat bran

  • 3 tablespoons 3 ground flax

  • 1 teaspoon 1 baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon ½ baking powder

  • 1 cup 1 milk


  • Preheat the oven to 200⁰C. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  • Mix together brown sugar, applesauce, canola oil, egg, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Mix flour, bran, flax, baking soda, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  • Add bran mixture to applesauce mixture. Add milk and stir until thoroughly combined. Pour batter into the prepared muffin cups.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 11 to 13 minutes.
