A world-first: Three reigning beauty queens to attend Miss SA [photos]

For the first time, Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Supranational will attend the Miss South Africa pageant this Saturday 16 October.

This year’s Miss South Africa pageant will make history as the reigning titleholders of Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Supranational will be in attendance on Saturday 16 October in Cape Town.


The Miss South Africa pageant will be held on Saturday 16 October at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town. For the first time three reigning beauty queens are set to attend the event. The three title holders are Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Supranational. 

Adding to the excitement of the grand finale event, former Miss Universe’s Catriona Gray (2018) and Zozibini Tunzi (2019) have been announced as the backstage presenters. While television and radio personality Anele Mdoda and actor Nico Panagio will host the pageant

Here is a look at each of the reigning beauty queens to expect at this year’s Miss South Africa pageant.

Toni-Ann Singh is a Jamaican-American singer who was crowned Miss World in 2019. Therefore, she is the longest reigning Miss World in the history of the pageant. She pursued a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies in Florida, US.

“From the Universe to Miss Supra and now the WORLD all under one roof!!! Another amazing guest that will be joining this year’s pageant finale is reigning Miss World @toniannsingh ????,” according to the official Miss SA Instagram page.


Mexican model Andrea Meza was crowned Miss Universe 2020. She is a software engineer by profession. Since her arrival in Cape Town, she has gone on a safari with former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach. 

“South Africa ???????? I’m here ???? and today I’m spending the day with the beautiful @piawurtzbach ???????? we finally met this morning! We are going on a Safari ????,” she wrote on Instagram. 


Namibian model Chanique Rabe was crowned Miss Supranational in Malopolska, Poland on 21 August. She was the first African woman to be crowned Miss Supranational. She is a fashion designer by profession and studied in South Africa.

South Africa’s Thato Mosehle was the second runner up at the Miss Supranational pageant. 

“From our fellow African country, Namibia ???????? we are proud to introduce you to one of our very special guests attending the Miss South Africa 2021 Finale????????,” wrote the official Miss SA page on Instagram.
