WHY YOU SHOULD TRY ‘DAY DUMPING’

As one of the health trends of the year, self-care is important.

And although listening to podcasts, going to yoga and learning a new skill can help, it doesn’t get easier than TikTok’s latest self-care trend – ‘day dumping.’

It’s all about finding joy in the little things in life, Glamour UK reports.

And, there are hopefully a lot of those.

Using TikTok’s carousel feature, users have been flooding their feeds with images, and videos that showcase aspects of their days that “spark joy”.

At its core, this trend is about those little moments in your daily life that make you smile.

Glamour UK reports that it can be anything from an interesting building, a photo of you and your friend or family, a picture of the sunset, or your first cup of coffee. The possibilities are endless.

Yes, photos of food and drinks might be making a comeback and will soon flood social media again. But this time, it’s all about reality. No filters.

There is only one rule: “no glamorisation”, Glamour UK reports.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Before you grab your phone, take a moment to examine your daily schedule. What are the moments, actions, or things that make your day that little bit better?

A full face of makeup? Your first cup of coffee? A made bed? A beautiful painting?

The trend aims to help you really enjoy those often-overlooked everyday moments or mundane tasks.

By looking at them differently, these “happy” moments now appear soothing. They can even encourage other people who are perhaps struggling to want to do them, Glamour UK reports.
