While it seems like a lot of activities are canceled this Valentine’s Day, we’ve rounded up some things that can be done to celebrate love in South Africa.

Cook along with Chef Neill Anthony (nationwide)

Celebrity Chef Neill Anthony has cooked for the likes of Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Elton John and U2, to name but a few celebs and this February he’ll be in your kitchen helping you prepare some of his favourite dishes – from the comfort of your home. Thanks to UCook, you can choose exquisite new dishes for delivery on 14 or 15 February, and get ready for a live home-cooking experience hosted by Chef Neill.

Celebrate the Pooch you Love this Valentine’s Day (Stellenbosch)

Valentine’s Day is about love in all shapes and forms. The Animal Welfare Society in Stellenbosch invites you and your pup for a Valentine’s Day walk. If you don’t have a furry friend, there will be shelter dogs on site who will be eager to go on a morning walk or run with you.

You can take your pup out along the vineyards opposite the shelter; direction boards will indicate the route. Plus, to commemorate the special day, the premium package includes a 15-minute photoshoot with you and your pooch thanks to Boland Weddings.

  • Where: Devon Valley Road, Devon Valley Stellenbosch When: 14 February, 8:00 to 11:00.
  • The standard ticket price is R50 and the premium package is R150. You can book online via awss.co.za.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Galileo (Cape Town)

As Greek As It Gets (Menlo Park)

Tiny Bakers (Centurion)

Share the love this Valentine’s Day, by enrolling your children in a class to teach them to bake red velvet cupcakes. This class is suitable for children between the ages of five and 12 years and takes place on Saturday, 13 February. They will receive everything they need to bake within the class, with 12 cupcakes to take home at the end of the day. They will also receive a snack and a drink during the class and the use of a Tiny Bakers apron. This fun foodie activity costs R300 per child and R100 per accompanying adult.
