‘Is he not going to jail?’: SA reacts to Lorch’s recent fitness clip
A clip of Thembinkosi Lorch breaking quite a sweat during a tough workout has left X users wondering when he’ll be jailed.

Earlier this year, famous soccer player Thembinkosi Lorch was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Nokuphiwa Mathithibala in 2020. After the incident, he was arrested and later released on an immediate bail of R2000. Since the verdict, his sentencing has been postponed twice and social media users are demanding to know why.
Many of them raised their concerns after a video of Lorch doing a heavy fitness routine was shared on X.

SA shares mixed reactions to Lorch’s fitness clip
On Monday, 4 September South African footballer Thembinkosi Lorch appeared at the Randburg magistrate’s court where State prosecutor, Michelle Hart, said that the sentencing was postponed for a second time.
He will now be heading back to court on the 9 October again.
In the mean time, it appears he is keeping his fitness in check and was recently recorded doing a gruelling fitness routine.

The clip made its way on to X and was captioned:
“Thembinkosi Lorch working very hard on his fitness and will be back soon there’s more that is coming he is yet to make an appearance this season.”

Mzansi is confused
While soccer lovers complimented him on his dedication, those following the news have questioned the fact that he still hasn’t been sentenced and should be facing jail time.
“He will just win the MTN8 and then disappear for the rest of the season. The breadwinner,” one person wrote while another asked:
“Is he not going to Jail kanti?”
“Mxm pirates must sell him… always injured! He bores me. He will come back play 5 games then injured for the whole season again,” a third wrote.
