Social media users have weighed in following reports by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) that award-winning actress Moitheri “Terry” Pheto’s Bryanston house will be auctioned on Thursday, 2 March.

Tweeps are calling for the former Tsotsi star, 41, to be arrested as she is implicated in the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) fraud scandal.

According to Asset Auctions, bidding for the three-bedroom home will start at R3 million — the house is valued between R4 and R6 million.

This comes after the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) stated that they had obtained a preservation order from the North Gauteng High Court to seize Terry Pheto’s home in November last year.

The SIU revealed that the money used for the purchase of the land and construction of the media personality’s home came from non-profit organisations that received NLC funding.

In addition, the Unit said that the former Bold and the Beautiful actress’ legal team indicated — in January 2023 — that they will not contest the preservation order granted by the high court.

When the SIU’s findings were made public last year, Terry Pheto issued a statement on her Twitter account denying any involvement to the alleged fraud scheme.

“I am dismayed to discover that I am the subject of a Special Investigating Unit (SIU) probe into allegations of fraud relating to funding by the National Lotteries Commission.

“I deny any involvement in the alleged scheme that has been reported on,” she said.

The mom-of-one also shared that she had no prior knowledge of an application to obtain a preservation order against her.
