WATCH: Springbok legend hangs out with Hollywood A-Listers at Roc Nation brunch

Former Springbok prop Tendai Mtawarira scored an invite to this year’s famed annual Roc Nation brunch, where he rubbed shoulders with the who’s who of Hollywood.

Mtawarira, affectionately known as Beast, is a former Springbok with 117 Test caps to his name. He was part of the Springboks’ World Cup-winning squad in 2019 and hung up his the following year after a short stint at Old Glory DC in the USA.

The Springbok, who was contracted to the Roc Nation Sport agency during his playing days, is still working with the company and thus scored an invitation to the posh event, which was hosted for the first time this year since 2019 due to the Covid-10 pandemic.

Beast was one of two South African celebrities, along with dancer and choreographer Bontle Modiselle, at the gathering and seemed to have had a great time judging by the the pictures he shared on Instagram.

The 37-year-old posted snaps of him with actor Mark Wahlberg and Damson Idris, musicians DJ Khaled, Tobe Nwigwe and Tyler the Creator and Roc Nation president Michael Yormark.

Beast also shared a video of him, Yormark and Wahlberg deep in conversation.

Currently, Mtawarira has taken on the role of Regional Ambassador for Eastern and Southern Africa for Unicef, the United Nations Children’s Fund. 

The athlete is helping Unicef’s efforts in humanitarian and development priorities in the region.
