A total of 11 victims have come forward calling for a criminal investigation to be launched against rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, following allegations of kidnapping, drugging and rape were announced at a press conference by their attorney on Monday 1 March.

11 VICTIMS HAVE COME FORWARD

According to CNN, an attorney has asked two states — Georgia and California — to investigate the couple on claims of sexual assault and trafficking among other allegations that the couple has denied.

Attorney Tyrone A Blackburn released a statement saying he reached out to prosecutors in both states to begin investigating the claims. He also said that he has 11 clients and the allegations span 15 years involving the couple and unnamed members of the couple’s inner circle.

“We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming,” said Steve Sadow, lawyer of T.I and Tiny, to Vulture

WHEN WERE THE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST T.I. FIRST BROUGHT TO LIGHT?

The allegations were first revealed in January when a former friend of the couple, Sabrina Peterson, shared stories of alleged victims’ experiences via her Instagram stories.

On 26 January, Peterson openly accused T.I. of pointing a gun to her head in front of her children.

“@troubleman31 you PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD IN FRONT OF CHILDREN & I NEVER CALLED THE POLICE ON YOU! But for years you have painted me as the VILLAIN! AS BLACK WOMEN! It’s hard to heal from RAPE, VIOLENCE OR ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU ARE PAINTED AS THE PROBLEM OR REASON THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOU,” she wrote in her caption.

Peterson used her Instagram account to share stories of more than 30 women who have claimed that  they have been sexually assaulted and trafficked by both T.I. and Tiny.

Here are some of the alleged victims’ experiences.

TINY FINGERED AS THE ‘RINGLEADER’

The victims claim T.I. was a willing participant, but that Tiny was the “ringleader” who often coerced them into taking drugs, such as MDMA (Ecstacy) and cocaine, and then engaging in sexual acts with the couple.

The victims claim they would meet the couple at a public venue and were then invited into their hotel room. Several victims also recall the couple taking away their cellphones and not allowing them to leave.

T.I. RESPONDS TO THE CLAIMS

On 29 January, T.I. posted an eight-minute-long video of himself addressing the claims on his Instagram account.

In the video that appears on the rapper’s IGTV, he denies the claims. The video had more than three million views.

More recently, he also posted screenshots to his Instagram of “fake victims”.

In light of the allegations, MTV has since suspended the production of the couple’s reality series T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle.
