South African media personality Sarah Langa has seemingly had it with people who pass judgment on her and other women who are divorced. The influencer recently took to her Twitter page to slam women who are married or in committed relationships who treat divorced women badly.

While she chastised those women, she also added that she is happy to have a group of married women as friends because they have guided her throughout her divorce.

Sarah Langa slams judgemental married women

In 2019, Sarah Langa and her husband of only two years, Jehan McKay got divorced. Taking to social media, the media influencer shared that the couple had gone to counseling for four months and also spoke to family members about their marital issues.

When all of it failed, they went their separate ways with Sarah getting a massive R1 million in their divorce settlement.

While Sarah has continued to live her best life on social media, it appears being a divorcee isn’t easy – especially when other women belittle one because of it.

Taking to her Twitter page on Monday 21 February, Sarah slammed married women who treat divorced women like trash just because their marriages failed.

“Married women and women in committed relationships really need to stop treating divorced women like divorce is some super contagious disease. Women will humiliate us, bully us, alienate us and judge us for deciding to try seek a healthier life in less toxic environments.” she wrote.

Supportive friends

She added that she is lucky to have married friends who have guided and supported her and somewhat cushioned the often harsh reality of being a divorced woman.

“I’m very fortunate to have a good group of strong married women that have guided and supported me. It has actually blinded me to the true realities of life after divorce, but the moments I have in new social settings also leave me gobsmacked that this is how we treat each other.”
