A palace insider claims that King Charles has taken a significant step in his cancer treatment in his return to public duties following his Easter appearance on Sunday, 31 March.

KING CHARLES MAKES FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE SINCE CANCER DIAGNOSIS

A palace insider claims that King Charles has taken a “significant step” in his return to public duties following his Easter appearance. The monarch attended the annual Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle on Sunday, 31 March. This marks the King’s first public appearance since he was diagnosed with cancer.

Buckingham Palace announced King Charles’ cancer diagnosis in February. The palace did not reveal what type of cancer the King had. The revelations came after King Charles underwent a procedure at The London Clinic. King Charles was previously announced to have gotten medical help for an enlarged prostrate.

“During the King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” according to a statement by Buckingham Palace.

“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer,” the palace continued.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,” she added.

The palace insider said that the monarch responded very well to the treatment, allowing him to make a public appearance.

“Today was a significant step,” the palace insider said, according to The Independent.

“As can be seen, the King has responded to treatment very encouragingly over the past weeks and his doctors were thus able to adjust their guidance slightly on what His Majesty is now able to undertake, including attendance at the Easter Service and greeting well-wishers who had kindly turned out to show their support,” the insider continued.

The source went on to say that the road ahead is looking positive for the King of England.

The road ahead is “looking very positive,” the source said.

King Charles’ daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, also revealed that she had cancer. The Princess of Wales shocked her fans and followers when she spoke out about her cancer diagnosis in an emotional video on Friday, 22 March.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she said as she is seen seated on a garden bench at Windsor Castle.

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she continued.

Close friends to the Princess of Wales have said that the cancer diagnosis had come as a shock – a source told People. The Times of London reports that Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle found out about Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis at the same time as the public.
