When thinking about royalty, a full-time job and second-hand dresses don’t really come to mind. But Princess Beatrice is as down-to-earth as it gets and is known as one of the most relatable members of the royal family. Here’s what we know.

PRINCESS BEATRICE – THE PEOPLE’S PRINCESS 

As the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice has always been in the spotlight. But according to The Sun, she’s one of the most “normal” members of the royal family.

She recently celebrated her 35th birthday and, according to reports been seen as a “great role model” and the royals’ “relatable princess,” the publication reports.

“Beatrice has put up with a lot of pressure and a lot of criticism in her life, but she has really come into her own. “We already have a divorced queen on the throne. Now we have a relatable princess,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said during an interview with OKMagazine!

So what is it that makes Princess Beatrice so relatable?

THE DOTING MOM AND STEPMOM IS AN OPEN BOOK

When Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in 2020, the Princess became a stepmother to seven-year-old Wolfie. She describes as her “bonus son.” The couple also shares a 20-month-old daughter, Sienna.

Apart from family life, the Princess has also been very open about her dyslexia and dealing with the trauma of her mother having breast cancer, The Sun reports.

FULL-TIME JOB

While most senior royals are seen as “working royals,” meaning they get paid by taxpayers for leading charities and attending state events, Princess Beatrice has a full-time job.

And although Beatrice regularly supports the crown while attending royal engagements, she established herself as an analyst at a wealth management firm before becoming the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at software company Afiniti.

THE SECOND-HAND QUEEN LOVES GOING NATURAL

Like the Princess of Wales, Princess Beatrice has been known for her love of second-hand gowns. She wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell for her wedding, on loan from her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, DailyMail reports. The late Queen wore the dress to a 1961 state dinner in Rome. Her accessories were also recycled.

And while members of the royal family are usually seen all dolled up, Princess Beatrice and her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, recently shared gorgeous photos on Beatrice’s birthday. Both sisters appeared fresh-faced while spending quality time together during Beatrice’s birthday.
