‘Stop that rubbish’: Papa Penny tears SA DJ a new one [watch]

Papa Penny is not a happy chappie. This after his song was remixed by a DJ who many have mistaken for Black Coffee who is also trending now.

South African musician Papa Penny — real name Eric Kulani Giyani Nkovani — has been trending on Twitter since Sunday evening. This after he shared a video of himself slamming a local DJ for remixing his song. In his video, he demanded that the DJ, Bushida Coffee remove the song, immediately.

Social media users — who are mostly unfamiliar with Bushida Coffee — immediately thought that Papa Penny was referring to famous DJ Black Coffee and soon he was trending too.

Papa Penny sinks teeth into DJ who remixed his song

If there is one thing about Limpopo musician Papa Penny, it is that he never keeps quiet about things that upset him.

He proved himself to be quite fierce on Sunday evening last week after he shared a video of himself blasting a DJ called Bushida Coffee for remixing his hit song Hayi Ka Mina Hee.

In the clip, Papa demands that the song be removed from everywhere with immediate effect.

“Stop the rubbish you are doing. [If you want to use] anybody’s song, consult. Don’t be a fake artist. You cannot remix my song without asking me. You must do your own thing. Don’t play off my gift. Compose your own song, delete that nonsense, that rubbish now. Budaza Coffee, whatever,” he can be heard angrily saying.

A case of confusion

People almost instantly assumed that Papa Penny was referring to Grammy-Award winning DJ Black Coffee and simply couldn’t recall his name.

Many of them wondered why he miss the opportunity to work with Black Coffee.

Various reports have since revealed that he was not referring to Black Coffee but rather to Bushida Coffee who bears a surprising resemblance to Black Coffee.
