‘Greatest day of my life’: Wild ‘n Out Michael Blackson opens school

Ghanian-born comedian Michael Blackson opened up a school in his hometown where learners will study for free.

Comedian, actor and philanthropist Michael Blackson opened a school in his hometown of Agono Nsaba.

According to BET, Blackson attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony event on 3 January where the guests were offered a tour of the newly built school.

The next day, the Wild ‘n Out comedian took his pride to Twitter and shared that the event was the “greatest day” of his life.

The Michael Blackson Academy will offer free tuition and the philanthropist said the school would give children opportunities to thrive in life.

Sharing his gratitude on Twitter, the Meet the Blacks actor said,

“Today is the greatest day of my life because I’ve finally accomplished what I always wanted to do which is giving these kids a chance to be great.

“Greatness starts with education and foundational education shouldn’t come with financial barriers, the American media personality added”

In a video shared online, Blackson said that each classroom would have a teacher and an assistant teacher.

“THANK YOU”: MICAHEL BLACKSON EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO HIS SUPPORTERS

The construction of the school reportedly began in 2020. In a Twitter post, the philanthropist shared his appreciation to his fans that made it possible for him to be able to build a school for children in his village and said,

“Finally it’s all done and the kids in my village will all go to school for free. Thanks to all my fans that supported me throughout the years, every ticket you bought to my show helped a kid.”

On Instagram, he added,

“I want our children to be able to dream big just like I did. School taught me discipline and built me a path to dream big…

“Thank you, America for giving me the opportunity to create this platform and providing me with the ability to strengthen my talents and to make such an impact that I am making today in order to bless my village with a free education,” Blackson concluded.
