South Africans are now comparing Bongi Mbonambi to Meghan Markle who was also dragged mercilessly by British media.

Many South African fans anxiously waited to hear if Springbok star Bongi Mbonambi would be be allowed to participate in the Rugby World Cup final this weekend. This after he was accused of using a racial slur by England’s Tom Curry during their semi-final match last Saturday. In the meantime, British publications have milked the story while painting Mbonambi in the worst light.
While Mbonambi has since been cleared to play, X users are still resorting to slamming those news outlets and have now even roped former royal Meghan Markle into the mix.

SA sympathises with Meghan Markle following Britain’s coverage of the Mbonambi saga
It’s been a hectic week for South African rugby fans who have had to divert their attention from the upcoming Rugby World Cup final between the Springboks and the All Blacks.
This after Springbok player Bongi Mbonambi was accused of using a racial slur against England’s Tom Curry.
The story was widely publicised by British media who spared no mercy for Mbonambi.

Taking to social media in numbers, South Africans defended Mbonambi and have now even sympathised with former Duchess Meghan Markle who once spoke out against the British media.
“You guys see how World Rugby and the English are pushing for Bongi Mbonambi to be punished? Meghan Markle was right,” one South African wrote in a now viral tweet.

In the comment section, many agreed as they discussed the online thrashing that Mbonambi has received for the past week.
“You are only believing Meghan now. They stole our Diamond and still cry wolf. The English are not nice people,” one person wrote while another said:
