Eulanda “Yolanda” Monyai has apologised for her gender-based violence (GBV) comments on Big Brother Mzansi (BBMzansi) season four.

The Limpopo-born sales consultant was disqualified from the Big Brother Mzansi competition on Friday, 15 March, after she made comments about molesting a contestant.

“I want to molest her,” Yolanda said.

She also made other inappropriate comments about fellow contestant Sabelo “Papaghost” Ncube.

“I’m going to go rape Ghost. I’m going to force myself into his bed,” Yolanda exclaimed.

According to the Criminal Law Sexual Offences and Related Matters Amendment Act, consent is not present if a person is asleep, intoxicated, mentally incapable of understanding the act, or below the age of consent.

In a video that was played for the Big Brother Mzansi contestant in the house, Yolanda said her comments were misunderstood.

“Guys, I just want to apologise for what happened on Thursday. I wanna apologise to Ghost for what I said to you and what I said about you on that clip that you saw. And I just hope that you forgive me or find it in your heart to forgive me. I know that you know that’s not what I meant and the whole thing just landed wrong. I apologise for that, ” she said.

Yolanda explained what she meant by her remarks, saying because she’s 32 years old and Papa Ghost is 27, it would look as if she’s taking advantage of him sexually.

“I didn’t mean it the way it landed. I apologise,” she added.

The model also apologised to the rest of the Big Brother Mzansi housemates, adding that she learnt a lot from them. She further apologised to her fans, the Yolifires, and her mother.

This is not the first time that a Big Brother Mzansi contestant is disqualied for GBV utterances this season.

When the S’yamosha season had just begun in January this year, Lindokuhle “Bravo B” Nselewas disqualified.

The came after the 29-year-old food vendor from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and fellow contestant Tshepo “Makhekhe” Tau, were recorded plotting to have sexual intercourse with their fellow female housemates because they were under the influence of alcohol.

In the video, which circulated on social media, Bravo B was heard saying they should “f**k” Zinhle “Zee” Mofokeng or Liyema “Liema” Phantsi because they are drunk.

He also apologised after he left the Big Brother Mzansi house.
