Zimcelebz revealed the rumoured reason Khama Billiat left Kaizer Chiefs before his contract expired.
The issue between Kaizer Chiefs and Khama became a topic among football fans when he did not attend training. The club claimed that Khama ignored their calls and emails, but Khama has yet to give his side.
This is the issue that Zimcelebz addressed when sharing a video as Khama touched down at Robert Mugabe International Airport. Speaking of Billiat’s fallout with Kaizer Chiefs, they said it was all about the salary cut.
“They wanted to give him half price of 800k,” Zimcelebz said.
THE ALLEGED REASON WHY KHAMA BILLIAT LEFT KAIZER CHIEFS
Khama Billiat had a long and fruitful stay at Kaizer Chiefs, and fans thought he was their man for the future. His move from Mamelodi Sundowns made headlines, and he did not take time to start scoring goals for Chiefs.
He went on to play over 80 games, scoring more than 20 goals during his time. All this showed how happy Khama was at Chiefs, only to hear that he did not show up for training.
According to Zimcelebz, Kaizer Chiefs wanted Khama Billiat to take a 50% pay cut, and he refused, leading to the fallout. His decision divided Kaizer Chiefs fans as some called him out while others defended him.
KHAMA’S RISE
Khama Billiat started his career at one of Zimbabwe’s academies. He began at Aces Academy, where he graduated, and signed for CAPS United.
He attracted interest from the South African side Ajax Cape Town, where he stayed for three years until 2013.
Khama was arguably one of the best wingers in the country and signed for giants Mamelodi Sundowns. After moving on from Sundowns, Khama Billiat joined Kaizer Chiefs, where he left in 2023.
