Whenever he is trending, fans are usually expecting to see his latest dish – and not for the right reasons! Tito Mboweni’s meals have become the subject of memes and jokes over the years as followers begged the ex-minister to take up cooking lessons. You can’t talk about Mboweni without mentioning his famous pilchards. As much as he loves chicken, everything comes second to his beloved tinned favourite!

The number one ingredient that Tito Mboweni is famous for is, without a shadow of a doubt, garlic. We can often smell the amount of garlic through the pictures he posts on social media, such is the volume the former ANC member uses. Not only that, but Mboweni is famous for the size of his garlic chunks. No mincing or crushing here – Tito uses thick-sliced garlic in every meal!
