‘Speedy recovery!’ SA reacts to Pitso’s health scare

Pitso Mosimane’s South African fans have sent him well-wishes after learning of the health scare that landed him in hospital.

South African football fans are sending their well-wishes to Al Wahda club coach, Pitso Mosimane after he was hospitalised on Thursday the 2nd of November.

It was reported on Thursday afternoon that the 5-time PSL-winning manager had been rushed to hospital in the United Arab Emirates, causing a wave of concern among his South African supporters. The news quickly went viral and began to dominate the social media conversation in Mzansi.

WHAT HAPPENED TO PITSO?

Pitso Mosimane’s hospitalisation has been largely described as a “health scare”. The news was broken by multiple Arabic news outlets, reporting that the 59-year-old head coach was rushed to hospital after experiencing shortness of breath.

Since then, however, updates have been few and far between as both the club and Mosimane’s representatives have kept further news private. The news has understandably caused concern among his South African fans who are now eagerly awaiting updates.

KAIZER CHIEFS FANS KEEP A CLOSE EYE

One group of fans that will also be concerned by the news is the Kaizer Chiefs fanbase. Pitso Mosimane has been linked with the now vacant coaching job at Naturena following the axing of Molefi Ntseki in October 2023. Some fans have called for all speculation linking Pitso with the job to stop and to allow him to rest.

Mosimane has been coach of the Abu Dhabi-based side since June, following a stint at Al Ahli in Egypt where he won the national league and cup. Despite his exploits abroad, Pitso retains a large level of love and respect in South Africa where his coaching career flourished.
