Commercial photographer, the uncle of Lethukukhanye Mjaji, the little girl known as “Miss Albany” recently took to X (the social media platform previously known as Twitter) and bravely put the bread company on the spot.

PHOTOGRAPHER OF LITTLE GIRL PUTS ALBANY BRAND ON BLAST

At just three years old, Lethkukhanye Mjaji became famous overnight when she stole the hearts of many South Africans. This comes after her uncle Lungisani Mjaji took and posted adorable photos of her holding a loaf of Albany bread.

According to The Citizen, Albany visited the little girl with gifts, loaves of bread and more. Umuziwabantu Municipality is said to have also handed over a cheque worth R5000 to Lethukukhanya. Parmalat also revealed on social media that they would send the little girl 100 litres of custard.

On X recently, the little girl’s uncle shared that he and his niece allegedly did not receive compensation “from that Albany thing”. Lungisani said he continues to create beautiful photographs and revealed that he supports the little one with what he can.

“We received no compensation from that Albany thing. Let’s dispel the notion that we gained anything from it. We’ve moved on, we’re creating, and I trust that God will guide our path. I’ll personally support the child with what little I have,” he said. “Ubuntu abusekho [there is no more ubuntu],” he added.

According to TshisaLIVE, Lungisani was able to secure a sponsorship from Xiaomi South Africa. He is also said to have bagged himself a brand new phone with an “excellent camera” for those instant behind-the-scenes content moments.

“Passion is crucial in pursuing photography as a career. It’s not merely a choice for study… [This year] I’m collaborating with Nikon South Africa for workshops and content creation. Nikon’s support allows me to fulfil my dream of paving the way for the next generation of photographers,” he was quoted as saying.
