‘This is trash’: Babes Wodumo’s new EP draws in criticism [listen]

South Africans have shared their concerns for gqom artist Babes Wodumo who was once one of the biggest stars in the country. Unfortunately things took a turn for the young musician whose troubled personal life took the spotlight. After losing her husband Mampintsha, she retired to the shadows but is now trying to make a comeback with an EP titled Mabeshingo.

Unfortunately for her, social media users who were treated to a preview this weekend, don’t appear to be very impressed with what she is offering.

Babes Wodumo’s new EP fails to impress

Once upon a time, Babes Wodumo was one of South Africa’s most popular musicians.

These days one hardly hears good news about the gqom artist who is famous for making headlines for behaving bizarrely or having spats with her in-laws.

The self-proclaimed “queen of gqom” seems to be turning things around these days and has now even started working on new music.

Taking to social media, Babes shared a preview of her new EP which was then reshaped by infamous gossip blogger Musa Khawula.

SA shares their thoughts

In the comment section, it would appear local music lovers were not too impressed with what Babes has to offer.

Many of them shared that she needs to find a new team to help her hone her sound. Take a look at some of their comments:

“Babes’ music career is really done, by sound of this, the EP is horrible!” one person said while another write:

“This is trash. She deserves better producers and team.”
