Fans have come in numbers on social media, proving to stand in solidarity with Limpopo-born singer Makhadzi  – real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona following her heartbreaking video where she can be seen and heard expressing her frustration with some of her haters claiming that she is ‘ugly’ as seen in a clip posted on Sunday, 14 January via X (the social media platform previously known as Twitter).

Makhadzi confronted her trolls. In a video shared on social media, the singer admitted to having received a bunch of DMs from people sympathising with her following some haters’ nasty comments regarding her appearance. It is not the first time the 27-year-old singer had to defend her looks on social media. According to TshisaLIVE, she previously had to defend herself from cyberbullies judging her negatively on her looks.

In the recent video, Makhadzi said that what matters most to her is that she knows that her fans and loved ones see the beauty in her. She also said that she has accepted herself for all that she is and that she doesn’t see what the haters are even on about.

“My fans don’t see this ugliness that you are talking about. Even me too. Even my boyfriend becomes shocked [be]cause they don’t see that. All they see is a beautiful lady in me. They also see the humanity in me and it makes me more beautiful to them,” the singer said.

“There are people sending me DMs saying ‘Makhadzi, I am so sorry’. Okay guys, I appreciate the DMs, but you don’t have to feel sorry for someone saying that I’m ugly. It doesn’t even do anything to me, but I am just tired of you telling me because you have been saying it every day,” she added.

After watching the clip, Makhadzi’s fans couldn’t help but have her back in the comment section, so they decided to use their voices to slam the singer’s ’miserable’ trolls.

“Queen, don’t mind those broke talentless bitter miserable people. You have archived a lot and you are still gonna archive more. You travelled overseas, they didn’t. They don’t even have Passports. What does their beauty do for them? They only recognise beauty in yellow bones,” @Mamboh13 said.

“People are just pathetic and bitter… How do you hide behind your phone and DM someone that they’re ugly,” @Ndake_nkj wrote.

“Many celebrities are coming out to defend themselves against cruel social media comments. Social media is a tough space even more so when you are a public figure. She will be attacked for something else on the same recording,” @Sthamber commented.
