SA saddened by pic of former Sundowns legend Lerato Chabangu

With all the success came a lot of cash and naturally, a lot of spending. In 2017, Chabangu opened up about blowing all of his money on the fast life.

“I blew all my money on useless things because I was always guaranteed a salary the following month,” Chabangu told Sowetan.

“We used to finish training by 11am and thereafter you are free to do whatever you want. We would go to Shisanyama after training and chill there over a few drinks and it just became a habit,” he told Sowetan.

And now a photo of him and another lost legend Junior Khanye has gone viral on social media.

Mzansi is saddened

Many have expressed how sad it is that so many soccer legends have been left down and out following such glorious days on the field.

“Financial management should be compulsory in our school, we simply can’t grow our wealth, not even our politicians.,” one person said while another wrote:

“Soccer culture promotes alcohol, drugs and sex . Hence they end up like this . Useless and broke like they never had opportunities.”
