Kaizer Chiefs legend Siphiwe Tshabalala is topping trends after his photos with FIFA president Gianni Infantino made rounds on social media.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino and CAF president Patrice Motsepe were in attendance at the 179th Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the packed FNB Stadium on 11 November 2023.

GIANNI INFANTINO’S PHOTOS WITH SIPHIWE TSHABALALA TREND

The FIFA president was spotted watching the match in the VIP stands with several government officials. Orlando Pirates won the derby one-nil, with Evidence Makgopa’s effort making the difference.

During the derby, the FIFA president was spotted having a chitchat with Siphiwe Tshabalala in now-viral photos and videos. No doubt little is known about their conversations, but they were all smiles. CAF president Patrice Motsepe was also spotted in the mix.

The now-viral photos and videos have gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped on the internet. With an illustrious career spanning years, Siphiwe Tshabalala is best known for his stint with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

On the international stage, he is best known for his beauty against Mexico during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Celebrated commentator Peter Drury made it known to SPORTbible that Tshabalala’s World Cup opener remains one of his favourite moments in football. “It was just a beautiful day for sport and humanity,” he told SPORTbible.

LOG STANDING AFTER PIRATES WIN

Kaizer Chiefs sits seventh on the log with 14 points from 11 games. They have won four matches, drawn one and were defeated five times in the ongoing season. On the other hand, the Orlando Pirates have 12 points from nine games. They have won three and have drawn three.
