‘Suspend load shedding’: Fans want Bafana to get same treatment as Boks
South Africans are urging Eskom and President Cyril Ramaphosa to suspend load shedding during Bafana Bafana’s AFCON matches.

South Africans are on top of the world following Bafana Bafana’s victory over Morocco at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Tuesday, 30 January, in Ivory Coast.

SA CALLS FOR ESKOM TO SUSPEND LOAD SHEDDING
However, some are not happy that Eskom implimented load shedding on the day of the match. X users have called on the power utility and President Cyril Ramaphosa to suspend load shedding just as it was suspended during the Springboks’ Rugby World Cup campaign last year.
“@PresidencyZA suspend load shedding in the next game. We can’t be watching the game like this.”
“Suspend loadshedding during AFCON like you did for Die Bokke.”

HUGO BROOS ON BAFANA’S ‘SPECIAL’ WIN AGAINST MOROCCO
Bafana sent the World Cup semifinalists packing with a 2-0 last 16 win at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro, Ivory Coast.
Second-half strikes from Evidence Makgopa and Teboho Mokoena earned Bafana Bafana a spot in the quarter finals where they will face off against Cape Verde. The match is scheduled for Saturday, 3 February, at 22:00.

Bafana headcoach, Hugo Broos, said taming the Atlas Lions was “something special”.
“I don’t think I have to tell you I am very happy,” said Broos
“We beat Morocco, and it is not only because we are in the quarterfinals (that I am happy), beating a team like Morocco is something special.
“This (Morocco) is a very good team, with very good players. But we did the right analysis, and I think the way we played, our tactics were right.”
