RONWEN WILLIAMS GOES DOWN IN THE HISTORY BOOKS

South Africa’s captain and goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, went down in the history books of FIFA and South Africa during the quarter-finals.

According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ronwen Williams became the first goalkeeper to save four penalties in a single TotalEnergies AFCON shootout. This hasn’t happened since the start of the competition in February 1957.

However, reports say he is one of the few goalkeepers to archive this feat across several Fifa major tournaments.
