Sunday World reports that Final Chapter Productions, which produces Smoke and Mirrors has confirmed that the production house has parted ways with actor Zolisa Xaluva.

“At the onset of the new season of Smoke & Mirrors, the producers of Final Chapter Productions came to a resolution to amicably part ways with Zolisa Xaluva. Zolisa has been an asset to the show in his role as Caesar Ngonyama, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavours,” read the statement.

This comes after entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announced that Xaluva has been let go by popular telenovela Smoke and Mirrors.

“Zolisa Xaluva fired from #etvSmokeAndMirrors. The prolific award-winning actor has been let go from the hit e.tv telenovela — which is the 7th most watched show in South Africa. The role of ruthless businessman, Caesar, will likely be recast,” said Mphela.

The Smoke and Mirrors actor Zolisa Xaluva also made headlines in 2022 when he exited Gomora after a disagreement with the producers of the cancelled Mzansi Magic telenovela.

A source from the show informed Sunday World that the actor confronted producers as he was not comfortable with his storyline.

“Producers have been trying to get rid of him but MultiChoice refused to let him go, and eventually got the go-ahead. He is a brilliant actor, but there are things producers can’t tolerate.”

Gomora’s publicist Linda Matsolo confirmed his exit to the publication and added that his character will soon be off the telenovela.

The South African reached out to Mr Xaluva who was not available for a comment at the time of publishing this article.
