Former Miss Supranational (2022) Lalela Mswane revealed that she is done with with beauty pageants, via an Instagram Story on Friday 29 December.

Beauty queen Lalela Mswane revealed that she is done with beauty pageants during a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories on Friday 29 December. The controversial beauty queen, who set tongues wagging when she competed in Miss Universe 2021, which was held in “apartheid state” Israel said that she was blessed with three titles, including Miss SA 2021, Miss Universe Second Runner Up 2021 and Miss Supranational 2022.

“Are you done with pageantry?” the question read.

“God blessed me with Miss south Africa, Miss Universe 2nd Runner Up, Miss Supranational. It’s safe to say I’ve had a great pageantry journey,” she wrote.

“The door is closed,” she wrote.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE BEAUTY QUEEN

  • The beauty queen graduated with a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree at the University of Pretoria.
  • Lalela hails from Richards Bay in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
  • At the Miss South Africa 2021 finale, Lalela showed that she was passionate about tackling the issue of unemployment. She did this through her #BeReady campaign which aims to empower youth development. 
  • According to her Instagram bio, Lalela is a dancer an from her Instagram posts, ballet seems to be her favourite!
  • While she’s passionate about dancing, Lalela is also a good singer.
