Multi award-winning musician Zahara – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana – is still fighting for her life in hospital after falling ill last month.

While her family and friends have not disclosed her illness, a family member has told ZiMoja that they suspect the Loliwe hitmaker was bewitched.

ZAHARA SUSPECTED TO HAVE BEEN POISONED

The source told the publication that they have reason to believe that a close family member poured muthi in the songstress’ drink.

“What is surprising is that when Zahara celebrated her 36th birthday on November 9, she was as strong as an ox. She didn’t show of signs of being sick,” said the family member.

The Phendula singer is reported to have fallen ill two days after her fiancé, Mpho Xaba, paid lobolo for her.

“The lobola negotiations went well during the visit by the Xaba delegation. The family representing the Mkutukanas was happy that Zahara would finally get married to someone she loves dearly. But someone interfered with the whole process by bewitching her.

“A relative must have gotten pissed off when they heard that the Xaba family were coming back to pay the outstanding amount of lobola. We suspect that Zahara was either poisoned or muthi was put into her drink,” said the source.
